UK campsites: Long Acres camping in Surrey
Looking for some UK campsites for your summer holiday this year? If so, Long Acres Camping in Surrey is a brilliant site to add to your list.
As UK staycations are a firm favourite for many these days, we have spent a lot of time researching trips within the UK.
Where is Long Acres Caravan and Camping Park?
You wouldn’t believe this family-run campsite is less than 15 minutes from the M25 and 45 minutes from central London, and that’s thanks to the 30 acres of peaceful countryside it’s sat in.
It sits on the borders of Sussex, Surrey and Kent, and the direct rail connection to London makes it a great spot for an easy weekend escape from the city.

Western Cars is the local taxi company so if you arrive by train call 01342 300 000 and they are able to take you straight to the campsite.
It’s worth noting the campsite is 5.5 miles away from Gatwick Airport, the only giveaway is the planes flying overhead. At the moment there are hardly any planes at all due to the current restrictions but when they do fly over, it may sound strange to say, you really don’t notice them! Or, if you do, you get used to them extremely quickly.
What facilities does Long Acres camping in Surrey have?
It has everything you need from a launderette and dedicated washing-up areas, to exceptionally clean toilet and shower blocks plus a helpful reception.
The toilet block here at Long Acres Camping is highly praised for its cleanliness on Trip Advisor and we can confirm they are spick and span!
Costs of the facilities are as follows:
50p per shower (you get a whole 12 minutes which is plenty of time!)
£3 per washing load and then £2 for the use of the dryers.
Food and drink at Long Acres Camping in Surrey
There is no on-site clubhouse at the campsite so come prepared with snacks if you decide to stay here. There is, however, a pizza truck from The Real Pizza Company that turns up at the weekends during the summer, we can confirm it’s delicious as they offer takeaways to the campsite!
Other than the pizza truck, there are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby.
First up is the very popular pub called The Wiremill - which is easy to get to via a countryside walk along the back of the campsite. The 10-minute walk reveals a rather lovely lakeside pub which is a converted 15th-century water mill with plenty of outdoor seating. We have heard the food is really good!
The local village is called Lingfield and is 1 mile away, it takes around 25 minutes to walk there. You’ll find plenty of amenities like a Co-op, Costa, Tesco Express a local pub and a few takeaway options such as a curry house (we recently tried Lingfield Tandoori and it was so so good!)
There are quite a lot of other pubs around but a little further out so probably too far to get to on foot.
Check out more food and drink options here.
A nice added extra that the campsite offer is the hire out of fire pits, they cost £25 per night which includes wood and firelighters. Word on the street is that these are very popular so best to book ahead. All you need to add is your marshmallows!
Long Acres Camping also have the cutest little section where they hire out a range of glamping options. These include a very cool Shepherd’s Hut, some cute glamping pods and a lodge.
