If you’re after the authentic taste of Spain in East London, then head down to Broadway Market in Hackney to experience the best tapas in London.
The relaxed Spanish way of eating is something that London folk love – us included! Sharing plates of fish, veggies or meat is such a sociable way to enjoy a meal out. Especially during the summertime in the city.
WHY EL GANSO?
Owned by experienced restaurateur Ihsan Tuncay & renowned Spanish chef Marcelo Sánchez Cabrera, El Ganso is the epitome of stylish Spanish cuisine. With tasty daily specials and locally sourced, fresh produce, it’s easy to see why this nod to the Spanish foodie way of life is a bustling success.
Head Chef Marcelo, is known for experimenting with new recipes. As well as his love for shellfish and olive oil. He was introduced to the restaurant business from a young age a he grew up in a family that was fanatical about food and cooking. The love he has for food emulates throughout the restaurant which only adds to the level of authenticity. A vibe we very much enjoyed.
WHAT DID WE EAT
OK, so for two people we definitely over-indulged but hey, why not. When the food is this good, you always over order. Our tapas selection was a mixture of delectable Pimientos de Padron, Patatas Bravas, Burrata and pine nuts, Sourdough bread with dipping olive oil and melt-in-your-mouth scallop tacos.
